Area Residents to be Affected by Road Closures for Celebrate America Parade

Area residents will be affected by the closure of US Highway 42 on Friday, June 28, from 6 p.m. to approximately 7:30 p.m.

The US 42 between Mt. Zion Road and Frogtown Road will be closed starting at 6:30 p.m. for the annual Union Celebrates America Parade.  US42 will reopen immediately following the conclusion of the parade event.

The area of OldUS42/Old Union Road between Westbrook Boulevard and Mt. Zion Road will also be closed from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for through traffic to stage the parade event.

This is the 10th year for the Celebrate America Event, and the event continues to grow.  The Celebrate America event is free to attend, and you are not required to be a resident of the city.  A complete schedule, parade maps and directions to the event are available on the city website at  www.cityofunionky.org

The city will hold a street party following the parade at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, featuring live music from the Wulfe Brothers Band, beer and food truck vendors from the Cincinnati Food Trucks Association and children’s activities including bounce houses, crafts and a bubble machine.  The event will conclude at approximately 10 p.m. with a fireworks show by Vito’s Fireworks.
