Managing your money...

Union's General Government revenue consists solely of Ad Valorem (Property) and Tangible Property Taxes. These tax revenues fund the services required by our citizens such as street maintenance, street lighting, and refuse collection.

The City's current property tax rate (FY 2007-08) is 2.17 per $1000 and the tangible tax rate is 1.88 per $1000.

The city receives approximately $40,000 annually from Municipal Road Aid. Additionally, the City budgets revenues received from utilities franchise fees and a bank share tax to maintain and improve our infrastructure.
