A Family Community...

 

The attractiveness of Union as a place to live and raise a family is evident in the dramatic increase in population over the past 3 decades.  In 1970, the population of Union was a mere 233 people, but by the year 2000 our population soared to 2893.  In 2004, our population increased another 12% to 3,251.

The family orientation of our community can be seen in the 2000 census numbers which show:

  • 40 %  of Union residents are under the age of 20
  • 32 %  of Union residents are under the age of 15

In addition, according to 2000 U.S. Census and other data, the citizens of union enjoy the:

  • Highest property values (median value: $187,600)
  • Highest levels of education (Bachelor's degree or higher: 43%)
